Our story
Eric & Corinne’s Story
It all started with a cough…
In March 2018 Eric came down with a cough that was diagnosed twice as pneumonia. It seemed harmless enough at first, take the prescribed medications, wait it out for ten days or so - end of story. But by late April the cough had become an incessant non stop 24 / 7 debilitating problem.
With no sleep and no rest for almost two months...
Eric went to see an allergist doctor to administer a breathing treatment. Not satisfied with the results of the treatment. The doctor ordered a CT scan of his lungs to rule out a Pulmonary Embolism. As it would turn out, that visit to the hospital would be the start of a grueling eight month odyssey placing Eric on death’s doorstep three times. When he finally left Cedars Sinai hospital on December 31st, 2018. He would leave having endured 20 days in the ICU, 185 consecutive days inside the hospital, and survived a grueling 20 hour heart and kidney transplant surgery.
While Eric was at Cedars he touched the lives of countless patients, clinical partners, nurses and doctors. Dubbed the “New Years Miracle'' he left the transplant recovery wing to hugs, kisses and a standing ovation from the transplant recovery team…
Corinne’s Turn
Corinne, Eric’s devoted wife and life partner, spent long exhausting days between her full time job as an elementary school teacher and caring for and raising the three Grace kids (Camille, Mason, and Gavin) by herself.
Left with no personal time and the chronic stress of Eric’s day to day trials...
Corinne didn’t have any time to think about her own health. Running on adrenaline for months with no breaks took a toll on her.
Selflessly, caring for her family and students Corinne ignored the signs her body was sending. Three months after Eric’s release from Cedars Sinai hospital, she was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer affecting approximately 1200 women worldwide every year.
Her pending CT scan would reveal an egg sized tumor had developed in her uterus. She would endure a six hour surgery to remove the tumor, but was later told in post op that the cancer had spread and that she would need to undergo chemotherapy.
On December 31st, 2019 Corinne rang the bell ending her twelfth and final round of chemotherapy. So dedicated to her students was Corinne that she would schedule her infusions at 6am and return to school by 9am to teach her class.
She never missed a day of classroom teaching in 2019…
HrtnSol's Message
"with every Hurricane comes a Rainbow"... gracism
We’re often asked the question. Is HrtnSol a brand? And our response candidly is “No it’s not”.
HrtnSol at its core is a lifestyle choice.
A conscious decision made by each of us as to “how we treat each other”. Do we take the time to say hello, smile, hold the door open for a stranger.
And if we are willing to do that - the simple things. Why can’t we express that little bit of extra kindness when we buy things? Everytime a HrtnSol product is purchased a portion of the proceeds is directed to a charity or campaign that needs our help. At our core HrtnSol is an expression of kindness and compassion for one another.
Corinne and I started HrtnSol as our expression of Thank You. Because words simply weren’t enough to express our deepest gratitude to those that stepped in unconditionally and poured the very best of themselves into saving our lives.
Every time you order a HrtnSol product, or participate in a HrtnSol event, you are placing your unique fingerprint toward helping someone somewhere in need. Our purpose is simple Lean in when others can't, because sometimes Thank You Just Isn't Enough...
With your help we can do more together to elevate our collective mindset. We will be a better community for the effort, when sometimes we need to do more than say please and thank you.
We are determined to keep the good deeds flowing, and with you on board we can get there together.
Thanks for coming and being a part of the HrtnSol experience…
